Privacy Policy for BChabura

At BChabura.com, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our platform — a learning management platform that helps chaburos study together with shared schedules and goals.

1. Information We Collect

To provide our learning management services, we may collect the following:

  • Account Information: Your name, email address, and (optionally) phone number when you sign up or sign in.
  • Learning Data: Your study schedule, progress, chabura membership, and related preferences that you create inside BChabura.
  • Phone Number & SMS Data: If you provide a mobile phone number or are added by a yeshiva/kollel administrator, we may send you SMS/text messages related to your participation (learning updates, reminders, donation receipts, account notifications, and fundraising appeals from your yeshiva/kollel). We store your phone number, opt-in status, and message history to operate the service and comply with messaging regulations.
  • Google Calendar Data: If you choose to connect your Google Calendar, we access your calendar list and calendar events using the Google OAuth scopes calendar.readonly and calendar.calendarlist.readonly.

1a. SMS Messaging Terms

By providing your mobile phone number or texting START, JOIN, or SUBSCRIBE to our number, you consent to receive SMS/text messages from BChabura on behalf of your yeshiva, kollel, or chabura. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

  • Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe from text messages.
  • Reply HELP for assistance, or email Hi@Bizup.Services.
  • Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in data are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
  • Supported carriers include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

  • Display your existing schedule alongside your BChabura learning curriculum.
  • Help you coordinate study times without scheduling conflicts.
  • Provide a unified view of your learning and personal commitments.
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the BChabura platform.

Note on Google User Data: We only read your Google Calendar data to display it within BChabura’s personal calendar view (“מיין לוח”). We do not use Google Calendar data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than the user-facing features described above. We do not use Google user data to train AI or machine-learning models.

3. Data Storage and Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information. Google Calendar events are fetched in real time when you view your calendar and are not stored on our servers. The OAuth tokens required to make these requests on your behalf, along with your selected calendar IDs and email address from Google, are stored securely so the connection continues to work between sessions. You can remove them at any time by disconnecting (see Section 5).

4. Third-Party Sharing

BChabura does not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties. We do not share your Google user data with any advertising platforms, data brokers, or unrelated third parties. Data is only processed by trusted infrastructure providers (e.g. hosting and database services) strictly to operate the platform.

5. Your Rights and Control

You can disconnect your Google account from BChabura at any time from the “מיין לוח” page using the “אפבונד” button, or by revoking access directly at your Google Account permissions page. When you disconnect, the stored OAuth tokens and selected calendar IDs are deleted from our database.

6. Compliance with Google API Disclosure

BChabura’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

7. Children’s Privacy

BChabura is intended for use by individuals capable of consenting to this Privacy Policy. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age required by applicable law without appropriate consent.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Continued use of BChabura after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
